Old and new coins

Bank Negara is going to release new third series of Malaysia coins by beginning of next year.

The new coins - 50sen, 20sen, 10sen and 5sen - are smaller and lighter than the current coins, with more security features.

The coins were designed and wholly minted by Bank Negara in Malaysia.

 
To mark the new series of coins, 500,000 sets of commemorative coins was launched yesterday by Bank Negara Governor Tan Sri Dr Zeti Akhtar Aziz yesterday.


The commemorative coins issued are in the denominations of 5 sen, 10 sen, 20 sen and 50 sen, which was selling at RM10 per set.
